Elk jaar organiseren we XXL evenementen. En de eerste van 2024 vindt plaats in Utrecht op een prachtige locatie! Graag nodigen wij je uit om langs te komen op zaterdag 17 februari in Bibliotheek Neude. Meer dan 20 bordspelontwerpers zullen hun laatste games presenteren.

Alle spelauteurs presenteren een hele of halve dag hun nieuwe spel(len). Binnenkort zullen we op onze website en social media kanalen aangeven welke spellen er kunnen worden getest. En wie weet, misschien ontdekt je je nieuwe favoriete spel 🙂

De spellen!

Enigmia

Enigmia is een bijzonder spel waarbij alle spelers in 2 teams gesplitst worden. Beide teams proberen als eerste 21 kaarten te scoren door op het juiste moment de juiste kaarten te spelen.
Maar de twist is, iedereen mag jouw kaarten spelen, behalve jijzelf. Zaak dus om je medestanders te laten weten welke kaarten je hebt, zonder dat je tegenstanders ergens achter komen.
Gelukkig heb je speciale code kaarten die je hiermee kunnen helpen. Dat is, samen met wat creativiteit, oplettendheid een oog voor detail de sleutel tot succes!

Bable

Bable is een uitdagend coöperatief kaartspel waarin niemand jouw taal spreekt.
Je bouwt samen met je medespelers de mythische Toren van Babel. Tijdens je beurt mag je echter geen acties uitvoeren; in plaats daarvan moet je bevelen geven aan andere spelers. Ondertussen veranderen jullie talen langzaam, waardoor het steeds moeilijker wordt om elkaar te begrijpen.

Spelers werken samen door elkaar opdrachten te geven.
Tijdens het bouwen veranderen hun talen langzaam, waardoor het steeds moeilijker wordt om elkaars commando’s te begrijpen. Lukt het de spelers om de toren te bouwen voordat de chaos compleet is?

Beetle to the Bubble

Beetle to the Bubble is een clever, snel en makkelijk te leren racespel. Je speelt een groep kantoorkevers die na een saaie werkweek in het melkpak op vrijdagmiddag zo snel mogelijk naar het feestje willen. Het team dat als eerste aankomt wint een rondje bubbelthee!

Counterslash

Counterslash is een gewaagd, dodelijk duel. Een snel kaartspel voor 2 spelers.

Critter Brawls

Critter Brawls is a 1vs1 dice rolling card game. Players create their teams of critters and battle in a series of brawls.

Dibs!

DIBS! is an interactive, real-time speed matching card game that plays under 30 minutes for ages 8 and up. You play as one of 5 characters and try to collect the most treasures by tactically tossing cards from your hand on a shared pile. The cards need to correspond to a number of dice that were thrown upfront.

Dice of destiny

Steer your fantasy folk to greatness in this dice-placement game for 2-5 players. To win you need to collect 4 destiny cards and perform the task outlined by the specific scenario you are playing. Dice of Destiny offers multiple scenarios that can be played in a session of an hour or less. But you can string these scenarios along in a single-session legacy campaign to create a game that can easily fill an evening. Between each scenario new players can drop in.

Dódeka

Kaartspel waarin je als champion de favor van de Griekse goden probeert te verkrijgen. Elke ronde speel je kaarten in stapels voor je, de speler met de meeste kaarten van een bepaalde god krijgt de favor token en mag in zijn beurt de speciale kracht van die god gebruiken. Door combinaties te maken en op het juiste moment toe te slaan, kun je je tegenstanders te slim af zijn en genoeg favors verzamelen om jezelf te vereeuwigen als demi god.

Lanista – Rise of the Gladiator Schools

Manage the affairs of a ludus, a school where gladiators are trained before they perform. Spread your powers over 3 locations to recruit heroes, improve your school and of course in the Arena to offer the most spectacle. However, the best rewards go to the player that invested the most, so you will have to combine strategy with opportunity and a bit of bluffing and reading your opponents. A bombastic experience in 75 minutes for 3 to 5 players. (I plan to bring also a party game ‘Sync Up!’: A party game where players get to know friends and strangers better, while practicing their mind reading skills. Expect to hear new anekdotes even from your best friends in this party game that takes 30 minutes for 3-8 players)

Rise of the Wastelands

In the near future a rain of meteors hit the Earth, changing the landscape completely and destroying almost all signs of civilization. A few years after the impact, the remaining survivors have started to gather in the ruins of cities where the effects of the meteors have been less severe to try to rebuild what is left and start a new society. Players lead one of the four factions with their own unique abilities. Starting from their capital, they will explore the dynamically generated board, discovering new areas and establishing outposts to recycle materials. With these newly generated resources, they can construct buildings and units, all while striving to upgrade their technology and gain a strategic advantage. This will allow players to accomplish the ever-changing achievements and let them spread their influence to rule over the other players.

Silent Disco

Silent disco is a must follow trick taking game where each player tries to take spotlight during a silent disco party. The player that gains the most popularity points wins the game.

Time Zoo

You landed your dream internship; working for professor Darwina Anning at the Time Zoo. The zoo filled with prehistoric animals is about to open when disaster strikes and all animals escape! It’s up to you to lure them back to the Time Zoo.
Time Zoo is a card game for 2 to 5 players in which you have to lure prehistoric animals by playing different food cards.
The animals all have different properties and are also worth points at the end of the game. The player with the most points at the end of the game is the winner and will receive the highest internship allowance from Professor Anning.

What are you saying?

Why are you pushing a snake with bare feet? This 2-in-1 game you’re about to play is full of wise but ridiculous local idioms that don’t translate well to English (believe us, we’ve tried!). We collected these expressions from friends and family in Poland, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania, Czech Republic, and Lithuania.

So, we’ve got two games here. In one of them you’ll propose the best ending to a wild expression. Guess the right ending or make it the funniest! In the other game you’ll make up meanings and bluff your way through the round.
